The compilation of Genealogy of family Wu in Xianju started in 1213 (to be examined) of the Southern Song Dynasty by Wu Qia, the tenth ancestor. In the Qing Dynasty, during the Qianlong reign, due to the multiplication of family members, the east and west houses of the Wu Family compiled and revised the Genealogy separately. Since the Song Dynasty, it had been revised 16 times. Among them, the last revision of the “Wu's West Residence Genealogy” is in 1998, with a total of 59 volumes. Its main contents are: Preface, family motto, genealogical examples, biography, lineage chart, lineage, records of old and new ancestral halls, epigraphs, etc. Genealogy is an important carrier of folk clan culture with very detailed family information.
